Salamanca Fresh started life as a wholesale business over 40 years ago, supplying high-quality fresh produce to local restaurants and businesses. However, it quickly became clear that there was demand for a retail arm of the business too, and so the first Salamanca Fresh grocery store opened in Hobart and today the business has locations across the city and region.
When you visit a Salamanca Fresh store the focus is on fresh produce and local products, with large displays of fruit and vegetables one of the first things you see once you enter the store. Throughout their stores local products are featured, and their partnerships with Tasmanian and specialty businesses gives them the ability to showcase these products to both locals and visitors alike.
Salamanca Fresh launched an ecommerce arm of the business with Myfoodlink, and now offers online shopping at the Bellerive and Kingston stores, with more stores to follow. The Myfoodlink platform was able to readily create an online listing through integrating with the in-store point of sale system (Gap Solutions). The move to ecommerce has allowed easier ordering for customers that are not able to visit in-store, and wholesale customers.
